Employment type: Full time for 6 months

Fashion for Good (FFG) is the global platform for sustainable innovation, providing promising start-ups expertise and funding needed to grow. From our hub in Amsterdam we host a co-working space with like-minded organisations, create open-source tools for the fashion industry and welcome visitors in our Experience – an interactive space that aims to change hearts and minds to join the collective movement to make fashion a force for good.

We are looking for a full-time Marketing Coordinator to support the team with the development of our soon to be opened fashion, tech and innovation museum, located in the centre of Amsterdam. The responsibilities of this role focus around project management, marketing support and communications projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Marketing Support: Support the Communications Manager in building and executing the marketing and communications strategy for the launch of the Experience. This includes identifying key influencers and industry players and reaching out to them to invite them to the event, support with the creation of written materials as well as developing marketing and PR tools.
  • Press support: Support the Communications Manager on press release distribution, reporting on media results. Additionally, help prepare for interviews, research on potential story angles and media outlets and reaching out to press to expand the visibility of Fashion for Good as a whole.
  • Development of the Shop Themes and Brand Selection: together with the Experience Manager – work on developing a wide range of themes for the next year to 18 months. This includes researching potential brands and assessing their sustainability credentials using the high-level checklist. Seek to build a database of potentially suitable brands.
  • Merchandising Strategy and Implementation: defining target consumers, refining merchandising strategy, developing buy plans, execute merchandising in store. Develop curation strategy to maximize media exposure.
  • Establishment and management of key partnerships: Work alongside the Experience Manager to manage relationships with the brands and key suppliers, select product lines etc.
  • Event Management: help plan and execute a successful launch event for the Experience, ensuring good attendance, guest list services, solid media coverage, help with press reporting and boost the engagement of FFG’s key partners and stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS

The final candidate has a strong track record in project management and in developing and executing communications and merchandising strategies in a B2C environment. The following qualifications are essential:

  • Experience in working in entrepreneurial and/or start-up settings
  • Experience in the apparel/fashion industry with demonstrated commitment for personal action for global transformation
  • Ability to act within a complex stakeholder environment and ensure different perspectives are taken into account
  • Confidence in working in a truly global setting backed by diverse international experience
  • Ability to manage complex projects and self-starter initiative to navigate an entrepreneurial environment
  • Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal and presentation skills combined with a proven track record of building lasting relationships with stakeholders
  • Flexibility to adjust the course and analytical skills to evaluate different options and propose preferred solutions
  • Creative thinking with the ability for sound judgement and to counsel management on implementation challenges
  • Pro-activeness, can-do attitude, comfort in dealing with uncertainty and drive with an eye on budget and timelines
  • Well organised, resourceful, and nimble personality, effectively marshalling multiple resources to get things done

Launched in March 2017, Fashion for Good (FFG) aims to reimagine how fashion is designed, made, worn and reused. This open and inclusive initiative – with its first physical hub in Amsterdam and a global ambition – was founded by C&A Foundation and brings together brands, retailers, multi- stakeholder initiatives, and funders to promote the five essential “Goods” of a new, transformed fashion industry: Good Materials, Good Economy, Good Energy, Good Water, and Good Lives.

Specifically, Fashion for Good is changing the apparel industry through innovation and new business models. Its innovation platform scouts for, nurtures and funds early-stage ideas and it scales proven technologies and business models for wider adoption by the industry. Its Good Fashion Fund catalyses access to finance and its open-source Good Fashion Guide shares knowledge to help the apparel industry transform. As a convenor for change, Fashion for Good enables conversation and collaboration, bringing together co-locators at its first hub in Amsterdam, as well as visitors to the Fashion for Good Experience to learn more about Good Fashion.

The Fashion for Good Experience brings all the objectives of Fashion for Good – innovation, collaboration and community – to life. The main goal is to inform, inspire and attract visitors in particular and the wider public in general to be part of this larger movement of Good Fashion. The Fashion for Good Experience engages visitors locally and in person, creating a high- touch, inspirational, transformative experience. As the headquarters for the assembled global effort around sustainable fashion, this experience gathers ideas, innovations, products, initiatives, and technologies from around the world, enticing visitors to engage and be changed.

EDUCATION

Academic degree in a relevant subject

LANGUAGES

Native English; Dutch language skills are a plus
